a Slow Mid-Summer Collection
re-imagined. slow summer afternoon & soft linen.
This collection began slowly, and without much of a plan.
It started with walks. The kind where you don't check the time. Where the pace of your steps starts to match the pace of the river beside you, and the summer flowers along the bank feel less like scenery and more like company. There's a rhythm to that kind of walking, unhurried and a little forgetful, and I wanted to bring that rhythm home with me.
Then came Almaty — a gallery, quiet in the middle of the day, full of textiles and art work that felt like they were still breathing. Threads with history and inspiration. Patterns, objects and colours. Something about standing in those gallery rooms, surrounded by sculptures, oil painting and photographs, planted another idea for this collection.
So this is what I re-imagined: a small gathering of pieces made for slow mid-summer afternoons. For the hours spent in the shade of a tree with a book you're in no rush to finish. For sipping iced coffee in a backstreet somewhere, where the heat outside feels far away. Despite the hot air — maybe because of it — there's a particular kind of solace in doing very little, very well.
I didn't chase new. I chased meaningful moments. The pieces are preloved, carrying small imperfections and quiet stories of their own. That felt right. A collection that already know how to slow down.
Linen felt like the only fabric that made sense — soft, breathable, comfortably imperfect. The inspiration of wildflowers, a frame and abstracts flowed straight onto it: the colours stayed light and natural, echoing the rivers, the flowers, the sun-warmed paths that started it all. The self-designed embroidery felt aligned — a language of slow hands, where every stitch holds a little more patience, a little more heart.
Nothing about it can be rushed, and that, more than anything, is the spirit of this collection.
A quiet companion for the shade of the slowest hours of mid summer.
