Reading on a walk...

Since the beginning of Nour Luna, I have always embraced the idea that change is a constant part of life and to accept it, all we can do is to keep walking forward.
Reading is an essential companion, it is a way of exploration, sometimes thought-provoking as well as a moment for solitude and retreat.
The recent books I've read, not only tell a story about moving from one place to another, but they also describe a profound bond with the elements of nature and the simplicity of life. At the same time, the characters embark on their own introspective and emotional journeys.
While commuting (short but intense trip) to work, I have also discovered the joy of reading poetry. A few inspirational and calming lines have found their place in my 12-minutes train ride. This simple daily habit allows me to disconnect from the surrounding chaos and the noise, giving me center through soothing words.
With this in my mind, I have compiled a list of books that I could not resist turning the page of, and I hope you will find them inspiring too. I would love, if you could share in the comments below your favourite books as well, that have marked a change or a journey in your life, and what you found inspiring while reading!
RACHEL JOYCE

The story is the introspective journey of Harold, a retired (and ordinary) man, who after receiving the letter from an old friend, decides to walk cross-country to meet her.
I loved how Harold delicately confronts his past, flaws, and pain, gradually learning to embrace the beauty beyond his comfort zone. It is a soul's journey striving to become their best self, allowing soace for forgiveness and compassion.
I was moved to tears...
ELIF SHAFAK

This multigenerational story is an emblem of interconnectedness.
As they reflect on past events, the present reveals itself, aiding in comprehending the root of the sorrows. Through patience and self-love, they conquer it and create room for the new.
I loved how multifaceted the characters were and how differently they deal with pain, misunderstanding, rejection and mix cultures.
The presence of the fig tree is per se a beautiful symbol for rooting next generations.
LYDIA MILLEN

Embracing the change and the beauty of each season is a hidden and mindful strength to nurture, particularly during challenging times.
By finding joy and happiness in daily life, we align more closely with the rhythm of nature.
I loved it because it focuses on the seasons and how welcome this natural change is the first step in accepting change within ourselves (weather is one of the few things we cannot alter; we have to first change ourselves).
NOOR UNHAHAR

A contemporary poetry collection by a Pakistani writer. The love and the pain for her homeland is beautifully finding its expression, while seeking for hope and self-compassion.
A journey for a restless heart and soul.
Hope you will have a lovely read!
