Here is a new entry in the "Reading on walk" series. Whenever possible, I try to read, and this time I found myself reading while needing rest. In our everyday lives we are often compelled by the need "always doing something" which keep us distracted or busy. However, during certain phases of our lives, slowing down it is the only way.
Curating this collection of books about slowing down has felt like taking slow walk through the woodland. Initially, everything appears dull and dry, but step by step I find myself drawn by each berry, every leaf and branch that shapes that shapes the pathway. Slowly, I start noticing the vastness of the woodland and I begin to see far beyond the horizon. We started with cold hands, now we feel warmth and comfort.
So, here we start:
KATHERINE MAY
Wintering

I picked this book by its cover expecting a different story...
But, it is a genuine exploration of vulnerability. Its poetic narrative slowly reveals moments of beauty even in the darkest moments.
An immersive read, guiding us gently toward the light, not matter how long the journey takes. Through the pages, we gradually see transformation , discovering that wintering is a natural season of life, filled with unexpected beauty and gratitude, when we intentionally choose to welcome and embrace it.
AUTUMN ROSEWOOD
The Cottagecore Project

This book is a simple and gentle way to start slowing down in our lives.
Throughout a few chapters, you begin to see how embracing the rhythm of nature and soul will help you to create a slower yet more whole life.
It encourages you to notice joy in the everyday, simple things, crafts and seasons. It encourages you to imagine a life that feels whole, safe, calm and free.
HAEMIN SUNIM
The things you see only when you slow down

India is the ideal place to begin reading this book: the noise, the light, the crowds, everything seems almost overwhelming all the time.
Sumin's quotes and reflections gently remind us to practice empathy and self-compassion towards ourselves and others.
We can only truly be present for others once we have healed ourselves first.
Hope you will have a lovely read!
